Two month ago, members from Stars
Like Fleas traveled to Iceland to finish mixing their
new album, The Ken Burns Effect, at
Greenhouse
Studios (Bjork, Will Oldham, Sigur Ros).
[Full Disclosure: the owner of
Monkey Town and the singer for Star Like Fleas are maternal twins.]
And while the album has yet to be mastered, they wanted to throw
a 2-day listening party, where you can hear a pre-mastered mix
of the entire album. It will be accompanied by video shot in
Iceland
utilizing the
Ken
Burns Effect.
Included in your admission will be a screening
of two of their Concert
A Emporter (Take Away Concerts) shot by French filmmaker
Mathieu
Saura. Past 'Emporter' performers have
included Arcade Fire, Grizzly Bear, Xiu Xiu, Mojave 3, Elysian
Fields, Doveman, and
Stuart Staples (Tindersticks).
Also included in your admission
will be a live short set by the Stars Like Fleas
pl.aying themselves, in various subcutaneous duets, trios,
quartets and quintets. A different line-up for every mood necklace!
