During all Car Week screenings we will off our special Thug
Passion cocktail for just 5 Bucks!!
(regular price $8) Enjoy the ride.
Remember doing donuts in your high school parking lot, drunk on
wine coolers, destroying the treads on your GoodYears, and screaming
your bloody heads off? Neither do we.
But if your idea of fun is not just doing one donut, but ripping
through 15 donuts and droppin' figure 8s in the middle of an East
Oakland intersection with Hyphy hip-hop blazing, plenty of herb
blazing, and your shorty waiting for you with some sweet Alize.
Well then, look no futher.
The centerpiece of Car Week will be video straight from the streets
of Oakland to the screens of Brooklyn, by the fine folks at SYDEWAYZ.COM.
Check out some sample video and get ready for some extremely illegal
car antics.
But that's not all...
We're also going to Ghost
Ride the Whip.
That's when you and your crew get out your car, let the car drive
itself, and dance on-top-of and all around your ride and hope
that you can jump back in before you hit a tree. Ghost ride the
whip, y'all!
But that's not all...
We'll also be showing some illegal car thuggery from France, Rendezvous.
Shot in the wee small dawn hours in the mid-70s streets of Paris,
a camera is mounted to the dash of a souped-up sports car. The
driver careens through Paris at 150 mph narrowly avoiding sleepy
pigeons and sleepy Parisians. The whole ride lasts less than 10
minutes, but the payoff at the end is super sweet indeed.
But that's not all...
If time permits, our very own Montgomery Knott will screen his
4-screen installation, Escape Routes, involving a 1964
Buick Wildcat, the NYPD Interrogation Unit, Lawrence of Arabia,
and a rousing score by Shostakovich. Again, cars + banditry =
stoopid phun.
