Galvin and The Deaf + Beards

14th
Admission: $5 suggested donation, $10 minimum
Showtime: 8pm

Song is craft again, and we meet Gabe Galvin. A pop - pusher
to the core, he sits comfortably driving through this cavernous
and malleable
medium. His sound is reminiscent of Bacharach or Spector,it breathes
lush orchestration, full of color and scope set against a warm,
rich
baritone spurning melancholy lyrics. Lovelorn themes are treated
with
insight and candor rather than declarations of defeat giving
the songs
an uplifting quality that echos the music's pop sensibility.
With this performance, gabe will be acompanied by Stirling Krusing
(flaming fire, slow country), Jesse Bryan (jesse and the strippers),
Evan Mitchell
(oh no and the tiger pit, industries of the blind), Christopher
Lee
(Glib, Flaming fire, the solvents), Michele Molina (the fruit
loops) and Jiliane Russo (thicker than blood, variouse string
quartets).

Beards
Fiercely loyal folk quintet seeks audience for sad musics made
by
drunken buffoons. Audience must have taste for mangled catch phrases
and biopics. Audience should appreciate the musical manifestation
of
fictitiously sad characters in place of the actual feelings of
band
members at times. Audience should realize that duo is just trying
to
put this thing right somehow-- to string the morose missives of
malconents together by using their bandaged, split-torn skin and
grafted-on understanding. Audience should neither pay any homages
nor
assume anyone is asking them to. Audience is encouraged to "keep
it
real" at all times, even maddeningly so. Audience should know
that the
quintet, at any given time, is at the end of their collective ropes,
although they love you, and they do, they do, they do, they most
certainly do.
